On June 3, 2026, residents of Accra experienced heavy rains in what was probably a foretaste of what occurred on June 29, 2026. According to official figures, the June 29 rain was among the heaviest in recent memory, as it recorded approximately 440 millimeters of rain in Accra and some parts of the central region (Cape Coast and Winneba).
